PGN appoints Foster Wheeler consultant for LNG terminal project

IDX-listed state gas distribution firm would likely appoint global engineering and construction firm Foster Wheeler as Project Management Consultant for its proposed floating LNG terminal in Belawan, North Sumatra.

A company official told Petromindo.Com that Foster Wheeler was among four final bidders in the project with the other three being Worley Parsons, GL Nusantara and Tractebel Engineering.

The official did not disclose the contract value, but said formal appointment will be made after the period for other three bidders to object the decision would lapse.

Meanwhile, PGN Director Michael Baskoro told Petromindo.Com that the company is currently undertaking environmntal impact assessment study on the project with completion seen by year-end.

PGN is planning to build a floating LNG terminal in North Sumatra to ease gas supply shortage in the region. (bernard)
