PGN assigned to supply gas for land transportation

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources has issued a new Minister Decree No 2436K/15/MEM/2014 assigning state-controlled gas distribution firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) to supply and distribute gas fuel for land transportation.

According to the copy of the decree, to help realize the task PGN will have to develop and operate 12 new CNG refilling stations and two mobile refueling units and its supporting infrastructure facilities in Jakarta, West Java, East Java, and Riau this year.

The company will have to supply gas in the form of CNG to one existing CNG refilling station and 1 CNG mobile refueling unit in Jakarta.

According to the decree, PGN will be tasked to supply and distribute gas in the form of CNG for land transportation at a volume of 10.5 mmscfd for the period of 2014-2019, of which 7.5 mmscfd will be allocated in Jakarta and West Java, 2 mmscfd in East Java, and 1 mmscfd in Riau.

The decree also stipulates a set of obligations and requirements that must be met by PGN.
