PGN awards 270km onshore pipeline project to KHI

State-owned gas transmission and distribution PT Perusahaan Gas Negara has awarded a tender to construct a 270km Pagardewa ? Maringgai onshore gas transmission pipeline project to PT KHI Pipe Industries, a subsidiary of state-owned steel maker PT Krakatau Steel.
PGN?s director for development Adil Abas said Thursday that the 32-inch diameter gas pipeline project linking Pagardewa in South Sumatra and Labuhan Maringgai in Lampung is scheduled for completion in 2006.
The awarded project is a part of PGN?s South Sumatra-West Java phase II project (SSWJ II), which is aimed to transport natural gas from ConocoPhillips-operated gas fields in South Sumatra to PGN?s industrial customers in the northern part of West Java (Jakarta area). (godang)
