PGN christens FSRU

State-controlled gas distribution firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) (Persero) Tbk on Monday in Ulsan, South Korea, officially named an LNG floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) that will be positioned in Lampung, Sumatra.
The FSRU Hyundai Hull No. 2548 was renamed PGN FSRU Lampung in a ceremony attended by PGN President Hendi Prio Santoso, Chairman of Downstream Regulatory Body BPH Migas Andy Noorsaman Sommeng and official from the ministry of state enterprise at Hyundai Heavy Industry shipyard in Ulsan.
The FSRU functions as a floating LNG import terminal in Lampung province and is expected to start operation in June or July of this year.
PGN is leasing the FSRU from Hoegh LNG for 20 years with 5 years extension option.
