PGN completes 27-km pipeline project in East Java

IDX-listed state owned gas firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) Tbk has completed the development of a 27-km gas pipeline stretching from Jetis Mojokerto to Ploso Jombang in East Java province.

PGN?s Director Dilo Seno Widagdo said on Thursday the project, which is part of PGN?s commitment to keep expanding the national gas infrastructures, was completed at the end of May. The pipeline was able to channel up to 65 mmscfd.

The completion of the project brings PGN?s pipelines? total length to more 7,000 km, which accounts for 76 percent of the total national gas pipelines on the downstream sector. In Java, PGN operates 493 km pipelines in Surabaya, 313 km in Sidoarjo and more than 189 km in Pasuruan.

PGN?s Area Head of Sidoarjo-Mojokerto Andaya Saputra said following the completion of the Jetis-Ploso pipeline, PGN is now ready to channel gas to industrial customers, commercial business and households in Mojokerto.

?There are many factories in Mojokerto-Jombang which can now use gas from PGN, including poultry feed, food beverages and ceramic producers,? he said, while noting that Mojokerto-Jombang is a new industrial area which potentially attracts a lot of investors.
