PGN completes compressors installation in Grissik-Duri pipeline

State gas distribution firm PGN announced on Tuesday that it had completed installing two compressors along Grissik-Duri pipeline, which will boost gas delivery capacity.

?Compressors installation was completed on time on November 19. The compressors will boost the pipeline?s gas delivery capacity from 310 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) to 410 MMCFD,? said president WMP Simanjuntak.

The Grissik-Duri pipeline supplies gas from South Sumatra to Caltex Pacific Indonesia?s (CPI) steamflood facilities in Duri, Riau.

However, Simanjuntak said current gas delivery stood only at around 285 MMCFD, far below the pipeline?s capacity. Sources said that low off take was due to CPI?s efficiency program in Duri.

PGN has 60 percent stake in PT. Transgasindo which operates Grissik-Duri gas pipeline. Transgasindo is also constructing pipeline from Grissik to Singapore, which will start to flow gas in September next year. (alex/godang)
