PGN distributes more gas in H1

State gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) has distributed 827 MMSCFD of gas in the first semester of the year, up by 9 percent compared to the same period last year.

"PGN distributed 827 MMSCFD of gas in the first semester," company president director Hendi Prio Santoso said at the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Wednesday.

The company also transmitted 848 MMSCFD of gas in the first half of 2010, up by 11 percent from the same period last year.

"The increase occurred in transmission volume, especially in the transmission pipe connecting Grissik and Duri,? he said.

In the wake of the growing economic activities in the country, the company has prepared a longer distribution network capacity and transmission of over 5,800 kilometers. The network will serve all segments of domestic customer across the country.

"Support in the form of increasing allocation of gas supply for PGN will very much help our efforts to meet domestic gas demand,? he said.(*)
