State owned gas company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) expects to get a special loan from the Japanese government this year to finance its gas distribution network linking southern Sumatera, and Pagardewa , and Cilegon, West Java.

"The Indonesian government is still waiting for the confirmation from Japan about the loan. We hope such special lending facility can be realized this year," he told reporters following a ceremony to install the company's two executives.

He said that the loan, which was formally proposed by the Indonesian government early last year, would benefit both countries' economies.(*)
