State gas distribution company PGN and gas producer Gulf Indonesia Resources (GIR) are currently in talk to supply 50 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of gas to industrial town of Batam, according to industry sources.
?Both parties are working on the terms and conditions, which, hopefully, will lead to the signing of memorandum of understanding soon,? said the sources.
The sources said the gas would be supplied from the GIR operated gas field in Corridor Block production sharing contract in South Sumatra.
PGN is currently working to complete gas pipeline that will connect South Sumatra to Singapore via Batam. The pipeline is scheduled to be completed sometime in mid-2003. (godang)
