State owned gas distribution and transmission company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) is in talks with state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina on new prices for gas supplies.

PGN’s president Soetikno said on Tuesday that Pertamina wanted to sell its gas to PGN at US$3.81 per million British thermal unit (MMBTU) in 2009 and $3.82 per MMBTU in the following year. Under the current contract, PGN will buy Pertamina's gas at $2.67 per MMBTU in 2009 and $2.74 per MMBTU in 2010.

“There is no deal yet,” Soetikno said.

He said the new prices would be applied on gas from Pertamina’s fields in West Java . The pricing scheme for gas supplies from Pertamina’s gas fields in South Sumatra remains unchanged. (Godang)
