PGN, Industries reach deal on gas price increase

Associations of Industries and state-owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) have reached an agreement over an increase in gas price since April 1 tthis year, PGN top official said on Tuesday.

?We?re glad that we (PGN) and the associations of industries have reached a deal on the terms of gas sale contracts, which include price increase, surcharge, and payment guarantee. We?ll be committed to supplying gas to various industries that become our clients,? Hendi Prio Santoso told the press after attending a meeting between PGN, the ministry of industry, and a number of industrial associations in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The price increase will vary according to the locations of buyers. For buyers of above 300,000 cubic meter per month, the new price will be US$4.30/mmbtu plus a surcharge of Rp 743 (1US$ = Rp 9,070) per cubic meter. (godang)
