PGN, KS sign MOU on cooperation in energy sector

State-controlled gas distribution firm PT PGN Tbk and state-controlled PT Krakatau Steel Tbk (KS) signed on Thursday a MOU to form cooperation in the development energy businesses.
PGN said in a statement that the MOU was signed by its President Director Gigih Prakoso and KS President Director Silmy Karim. Gigih said that the two companies have competency in their respective fields, which if synergized can mutually benefit the two companies such as in terms of efficiency and the development new businesses.
The statement said that the MOU covers the development and management of gas supply within the KS Group, and cooperation in the development of electricity business, and other potential businesses.
Silmy said that the cooperation with PGN is important because production capacity of KS will soar to 10 million tons per year by 2025, which will require huge supply of energy and other services such as logistics and water, and infrastructure facilities.
