PGN, Lampung province to form gas distribution unit

State-owned gas transmission and distribution PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk said Friday it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lampung provincial government to jointly form a company to manage gas distribution in the province.
Lampung is situated in the middle of the pipeline being built by PGN to link South Sumatra to West Java. The pipeline aims to meet high demand for natural gas in West Java with the first gas from South Sumatra is expected to start in February 2007.
PGN has signed similar agreements with Jambi, Riau, Banten, and South Sumatra provincial governments. (godang)
