PGN makes Jakarta a role model for city gas

State owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) is making Jakarta as a role model for the development city gas across the country.

The statement was made by PGN?s President Director Hendi Prio Santoso in a courtesy call on acting Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaya Purnama.

Hendi said PGN has already 701 km-long gas pipeline in the capital, including 60 km built this year. The pipeline is part of the West Java pipeline network which has a total length of 2,150 km. Nationally, the firm has 6000 km pipeline network.

At present, the firm has 13,900 customers across the city, including 13,500 household costumers and small businesses. The firm has 100,000 costumers nationally.

The firm is developing several infrastructure projects in the city, including the household distribution pipeline, the 45-km Ring Line 1 (Muara Karang-Muara Bekasi) pipeline, six natural gas filling stations, two Mobile Refuelling Units (MRU).

The firm also plans to develop interconnection pipelines around industrial areas such as North Jakarta, Cakung-Cilincing, Nusantara Bonded Zone, Marunda Center the Muara Karang, Muara Tawar, Tanjung Priok power plants owned by state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).

At present, the firm supplies 95 bbtud of gas, equivalent to 2.7 million kiloliteres of oil fuel per day.
