PGN mulls Lampung FSRU development

Friday, May 20 2011 - 02:51 AM WIB

IDX-listed gas transmission and distribution company PT PGN (Persero) may build an LNG receiving terminal in Lampung, Sumatra.

?PGN is still evaluating the possibility,? Director Wahid Sutopo told Petromindo.Com without giving further detail.

PGN, teaming up with state oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) are now developing an LNG floating storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU) in Jakarta and another one by itself in North Sumatra. The company is also planning to build a similar facility in Central or East Java.

PGN CEO Hendi P. Santosa said on Thursday that the company is keeping the option of importing LNG from overseas producers open in case it does not get enough LNG from domestic suppliers for its FSRU projects. (godang)
