PGN, partners pick consultant for LNG terminal project

State gas distribution firm PGN and partners have picked Indonesian unit of Australian engineering firm Worley Parsons to conduct feasibility study to develop floating LNG receiving terminal in western part of Java.
A Petromindo.Com source said on Monday that the partnership is currently finalizing contract with PT Worley Parsons Indonesia, which scope including feasibility study and tender document preparation.
The source did not give further detail.
PGN together with state electricity firm PLN and state oil, gas firm PT Pertamina are planning to develop a floating LNG receiving terminal in Jakarta Bay with capacity of 1.5 MTPA.
PGN President Hendi Prio Santoso said in September 2009 that the terminal will start operations in the second half of 2012.
Gas from the proposed LNG terminal might be supplied from Bontang and Tangguh LNG plants. (godang)
