IDX-listed gas distribution company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) and listed state-owned construction company PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk (PTPP), have signed heads of agreement (HOA) to develop natural gas distribution network for households across the nation.
The HoA was signed by President Director of PGN, Gigih Prakoso, and President Director of PT PP, Lukman Hidayat in Jakarta on Monday (30/09).
"The signing of the cooperation agreement is a momentum for PGN and PTPP, which has proven experience in infrastructure industry, to involve in strengthening the role of state-owned companies in the acceleration of national economic development," Gigih Prakoso said.
Based on the HoA, both parties agree to develop the city gas distribution network in two phases, 50,000 households (SR) in the first phase and 450,000 households in the second phase.
So far, PGN has connected 177,710 households across the nation with natural gas distribution network.
Gigih said PGN through its gas sub-holding entity will continue to expand the natural gas distribution network to households across the nation.
The city gas distribution network is part of the government's program to increase the utilization of gas in domestic market. PGN aims to connect 4,7 million households with gas pipeline network by 2025.
