IDX-listed state owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) has renewed contract to supply gas to PLTGU Muara Tawar combined cycle power plant owned by public utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN) in Bekasi, West Java province.

PGN?s Corporate Secretary Hery Yusup said on Friday that PGN had been supplying gas to PLTGU Muara Tawar since 2008. The previous contract ended on March 31, 2016 but PGN and PLN signed contract in April to continue the supply.

Heri said the volume of supply is adjusted to PLN?s demand, noting however that at present the amount of supply to the power plant has reached the level of supply realized in 2015.

He further noted that PGN and PLN are in intensive talks to discuss the gas demand of both existing power plants and those planned to be built under the 35,000 MW program.

?PGN is highly committed to supporting PLN?s power generation activities as well as the 35,000 MW program,? Hery said.
