PGN's gas sales in S. Sumatra to increase by 10% in 2006

State owned gas distribution company PGN's gas sales in South Sumatra is projected to increase by about 10 percent to 9.2 million cubic meters in 2006 from this year's target, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Thursday.

Executive manager of PGN for South Sumatra, H.M. Riyadi said in Palembang on Wednesday that the higher sales projection was made amid surge in demand from household and corporate customers.

"The gas demand continues to show an increase both from households and industries," he was quoted by the newspaper as saying.

Riyadi, however, said that the demand for gas from both households and industries continued to increase from day to day but due the lack of investment for network expansion, PGN could not fully take the advantage of the market potential. (*)
