State-owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN)?s gas supply to state-owned power company PLN?s Muara Tawar power plant in Bekasi has run smoothly with a distribution rate of between 200 and 210 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD), PGN said in its press release.

PGN said that the gas distribution rate to the 6x140MW Muara Tawar combined cycle power plant had, since early February, reached the maximum level as stated in the contract signed with the state-owned power company in April, 2008.

?This achievement reflects our strong commitment to support the diesel to gas conversion program at PLN?s power plants,? PGN?s director Michael Baskoro said.

He said PGN would further provide additional supply of up to 100 MMSCFD to the Muara Tawar plant as stated in a separate contract signed with PLN. He hoped that the gas supply under this contract could be realized this year. (godang)
