PGN?s Panaran-Tanjung Uncang pipeline to be completed soon

State-controlled gas distribution company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk. (PGN) said the construction of the Panaran-Tanjung Uncang gas pipeline on Batam Island, Riau Islands, will be completed later this month.
?The Panaran-Tanjung Uncang gas pipeline is ready to deliver gas later this month,? PGN Vice President for Communications, Ridha Ababil to Petromindo.com.He said the 18 km pipeline project with a diameter of 16 inches will supply gas for industry, households and small businesses in the area around Tanjung Uncang and is also ready to transport gas to PLN?s Tanjung Uncang power plant.
?Gas supply will come from Corridor block operated by ConocoPhillips with a capacity of up to 60 mmscfd,? he said.
The pipes used in the Rp 183 billion project are produced by PT Krakatau Heavy Industries and PT Steel Pipe Industries of Indonesia.
He asserted that the development of the Panaran-Tanjung Uncang pipeline is part of the efforts by PGN to continue expanding its gas infrastructure in Indonesia. This is also part of its efforts to build synergy in the management gas supply chain at home.
