Gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) said it is now searching gas supply from abroad, including Rusia and West Africa to meet gas needs of its Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) in Labuhan Maringgai, Lampung.
PGN needs gas volume of 3 million tons per annum (mtpa) for the Lampung FSRU.
?We are hoping to secure 1.5 million tons per annum (mtpa) of gas from Gas Prompt Russia as well as from gas producers in West Africa. The remaining gas needs will hopefully come from domestic sources,? Gas Marketing Division Head of PGN, Gamal Santoso, told Petromindo.com.
He said previously the company hoped to import LNG from Qatar, however, the Qatar gas price is too high, which is 15 percent above the Japan Crude Cocktail (JCC) price.
