PGN signs 100 sales contracts worth US$320 million

State owned gas distribution company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) will today sign new sales contracts with at least 100 corporate clients in Jakarta, Bogor, Bekasi, Banten and Karawang, Investor Daily reported on Wednesday.

PGN's president WMP Simanjuntak said in Jakarta on Tuesday that PGN will supply about 900 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) by 2006 to the new customers under the contracts, which are estimated to be worth about US$320 million.

"In the first stage, the volume of the gas to be sold to the new customers will be about 300 MMCFD. This will be gradually increased to reach 900 MMCFD by 2006," he told reporters.

The company's corporate secretary Widyatmoko said that the new customers, among others, comprise of 21 companies in Jakarta with total supply of between 49 and 50 MMCFD, 22 companies in Bogor (between 17 and 18 MMCFD), seven companies in Bekasi (12 MMCFD), 14 companies in Karawang (23 MMCFD).

"There are also six new customers in Banten, but the volume has not been decided," he said. (*)
