IDX-listed gas distribution company PT PGN Tbk is developing a 141 Km of new gas pipeline linking cities of Gresik, Lamongan, and Tuban in East Java Province as part of efforts to expand customers in the province.
PGN Vice President for Corporate Communications Irwan Andri Atmanto said in a statement on Tuesday that the company is currently in the process of developing the first phase of 11.5 Km in Gresik, which is targeted to be completed in the first quarter of 2017. ?PGN will continue to be aggressive in developing gas pipeline network to expand gas utilization by the public,? he said.
Once completed, the first phase 11.5 Km pipeline in Gresik will be connected with existing pipelines in East Java so that more industries, small-scale enterprises, hotels, shopping malls, restaurants and households can have access to clean and efficient gas, PGN said in the statement.
Last year, PGN developed new gas pipelines in East Java including 32 Km in Sidoarjo, 23 Km in Surabaya, 2 Km in Pasuruan, expanding the length of the company?s gas pipeline network in the province to a combined 1,156 Km.
PGN operates a combined 7,200 km of gas pipeline in the country, or around 78 percent of installed gas pipeline.
