PGN to develop 490 Km of new gas pipelines

IDX-listed gas distribution firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) plans to develop a total of 490 Km new gas pipelines in the country this year as the company aims to expand gas distribution to customers.

This was said by Head of Corporate Communication Division at PGN Irwan Andri Atmanto as quoted by detik.com on the sidelines of the World Gas Conference in Paris, Wednesday.

According to PGN data, the company operated a total of 3,112 Km gas pipeline in 2001, which expanded to 6,161 Km by end of 2014 comprising of transmission and distribution gas pipelines.

?This year, PGN will expand 490 Km in West Java, East Java, and several areas in Sumatra,? Irwan said.

He said that until 2019, PGN will developed a total of 4,000 Km of new gas pipelines.

Over the past year, PGN has developed a number of gas pipeline networks among others a 90 Km pipeline in Lampung, an 18 Km Tanjung Uncang-Panaran pipeline in Batam, a 30.5 Km Cikande-Bitung pipepline, and CNG clustering project in Tambak Aji, Semarang.

PGN has also started construction of the 270 Km Kalimantan-Java I (Kalija I) pipeline, which is targeted to be completed this year. (*)‎
