State-owned gas distribution company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) will reduce its gas supply to industries especially in West Java next year in order to be able to meet it contract commitment to state-owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).

?PGN will supply 273.2 MMSCFD to PLN next year. As the consequence, PGN will have to reduce the same volume of its gas supply to industrial buyers,? PGN?s president director Hendi Prio Santoso said in Jakarta on Thursday.

According to him, PGN has contracts to supply 273.2 MMSCFD to PLN?s three combined cycle power plants including Muara Tawar combined cycle power plant in Bekasi (200 MMCFD), Tanjung Priok combined cycle power plant in North Jakarta (30 MMCFD), Cilegon combined cycle power plant in Banten (30 MMCFD) and the Batam combined cycle power plant in Riau islands (13.2 MMCFD).

PGN was also committed to increasing supply to Muara Tawar to around 100 MMCFD, he said.

PGN and PLN are currently negotiating new contracts for the additional supply of 8 MMSCFD to PLN?s Talang Duku 40 MW combined-cycle power plant in South Sumatra. The contracts are expected to be signed next month. (godang)
