IDX-listed gas distribution company PT PGN Tbk said it is expected to start receiving gas from Husky CNOOC Madura Limited (HCML)?s BD field project in the Madura Strait block, offshore East Java, in May of this year.
PGN Operational Director, Danny Praditya said in a statement obtained Thursday that gas supply from the BD field project will initially start at 20 mmscfd, and will gradually increase to 100 mmscfd.
He added that the gas will be distributed from delivery point at the Semare Station to PGN?s existing gas pipeline in Pasuruan, East Java.
Danny said that the gas from the BD field will increase gas supply reliability to PGN?s customers in East Java particularly in Surabaya, Gresik, Sidoarjo, Mojokerto and Pasuruan, which in turn would help support investment activities in the province.
Canadian firm Husky Energy, which owns 40 percent interest in HCML, said in February of this year, that construction of facilities in the BD field was nearly completed, while the FPSO vessel has been completed.
?The project is on target for first production in the 2017 timeframe and is scheduled to ramp up to its full gas sales rate by the second half of 2017,? the company said in a statement.
