PGN to use Pertagas pipeline

State-controlled gas distribution firm PT. Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) will use the East Java Gas Pipeline (EJGP) owned by PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) to distribute 50 bbtud of gas from the Maleo field, Madura Offshore PSC, in East Java, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Tuesday.

The paper quoted Pertagas President Director Hendra Jaya as saying that PGN will use the pipeline to distribute gas to consumers in East Java. He added that PGN will pay a toll fee for using the facility, the rate of which will depend on the distance.

Other companies which have also been using the EJGP facility among others are PT Kangean Energy Indonesia, Santos Indonesia, PT Pembangkit Jawa Bali, and Pertagas Niaga.

Gas production from Maleo commenced in October 2006. All of the gas produced from Maleo is sold to PGN.

Santos holds a 67.5 percent interest in the Madura Offshore block, PC Madura Ltd 22.5 percent and PT Petrogras Pantai Madura 10 percent. (*)
