State gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) expects a government decision can be taken soon on the allocation of gas from the MDA field in Madura Strait PSC, offshore East Java, managed by Husky Energy.
?For gas from the MDA field, we expect a beauty contest can take place by April. We?re prepared to take the gas. If we get it, the gas will be transported to Central Java through the Trans Java?s Gresik-Semarang pipeline network,? President Director Sardjono told petromindo.com.
Deputy of Commercialization at SKK Migas Widiyawan Prawiraatmadja said that no decision has been taken yet on the gas allocation. ?The decision will be made by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister.?
SKK Migas has said the production potential from the MDA field would be less than 150 mmscfd. The MDA field is one of the three shallow water fields Husky is currently developing. The other two fields are MBH and BD.
The MDA and MBH fields will be developed in tandem with a wellhead platform with initial production targeted as early as 2014.
