State gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) will raise the gas price and pipeline toll fee for industries by 15 percent from October 15, 2005, the Investor Daily Indonesia newspaper reported in its Thursday edition.
The current combined price of US$3.9 per million british thermal unit (mmbtu) will increase to $4.5 per mmbtu.
?The gas selling price will be equal to Rp 1,600 per liter of diesel fuel. It will be still be cheaper, because it?s just around 30 percent of the (current) diesel price,? PGN president director WMP Simandjuntak told the Investor Daily on Wednesday in Jakarta.
The price hike, according to Simandjuntak, is due to the increase in PGN?s gas purchase price from gas producers and the rise in the steel pipe?s price.(*)
