PT Palembang GMA Refinery Consortium (PGRC) plans to develop an oil refinery at a special economic zone (SEZ) in Papu, Central Sulawesi Province, according to an official at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources who requested for anonymity.

The official told Petromindo.com Wednesday that PGRC will develop a refinery with processing capacity of 300,000 bpd.

He said that PGRC initially planned to build the refinery at the Tanjung Api-Api SEZ in South Sumatra, but the company failed to obtain the required location permit.

The official said that the ministry will help facilitate PGRC in obtaining the required permits.

He also said that PGRC will utilize the 3DEXPERIENCE software platform of Dassault Systemes for virtual planning and management of its crude oil refinery project.
