PT Palembang GMA Refinery Consortium (PGRC) is negotiating with Iran?s LNG producers to supply LNG to Indonesia with an initial volume of 5 million tons per annum (mtpa), according to an official of the firm.
?We are in negotiations with Iran LNG (producers) for 20-year contract,? Director of PGRC Majid Sabbaghi said to Petromindo.com recently.
He said that if the contract is agreed, the LNG is expected to be shipped to Indonesia within the next 35 months. He added that the LNG volume of 5 mtpa can be further increased after two or three years, if demand is secured.
The LNG will be processed at a floating storage and regasification unit to be built by PGRC in Teluk Tambu, Central Sulawesi.
Last week, the company announced plan to develop an oil refinery with a capacity of 300,000 bopd, including petrochemical complex and strategic petroleum reserves (SPR), valued at more than 9.8 billion euros at a special economic zone (SEZ) in Palu, Central Sulawesi. The required crude oil will be supplied from Iran under a contract of about 20 years.
