PGRC to use Dassault Systemes software in refinery project

PT Palembang GMA Refinery Consortium (PGRC) will utilize the 3DEXPERIENCE platform of Dassault Systemes for virtual planning and management of its crude oil refinery project in Tanjung Api-Api, South Sumatra Province, swa.co.id reported.
The company, which has obtained the required permits from the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, plans to start construction of the refinery project in 2018.
Masaki Sox Konno, Managing Director Asia Pacific South at Dassault Systemes that the 3DEXPERIENCE will provide virtual representation at every phases of the project to help ensure greater efficiency in project implementation.
According to PGRC website, the company plans to build oil refinery to process 300,000 bpd of crude oil that will provide output of mainly gasoline, diesel oil and kerosene in high quality that conform to Euro V, oil and gas specification.
To support the need for national reserves of crude and fuel, the consortium also plans to build 6,600,000 barrels storage tanks in the Tanjung Api-Api Special Economic Zone. (*)
