PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), together with Malaysian firm Petronas and Petrovietnam, has planned to conduct a drilling of one appraisal well in Block 10/11 in Vietnam as part of their tripartite cooperation that has long been launched.

So far, the three countries? joint operation had drilled three wells and found an indication of oil in the Block 10/11, however, further drilling of an appraisal well is needed in order to confirm if the reserve amount is at commercial level.

?This year's plan is to drill the appraisal well named Gao Chua within Block 10/11 which at present is being jointly operated. Previously, three wells had been drilled,? PT Pertamina Hulu Energi President Director Tenny Wibowo told Petromindo.com on Friday.

Tenny said that if the appraisal well drilling produces expected good result, then a plan of development will be proposed. ?If the result is good, we?ll propose a plan of development to the oil and gas authority of Vietnam,? he said, adding that so far there has been no production yet from the block.

"No production yet. There is an indication of hydrocarbon, but we need to find out through the drilling of an appraisal well if the amount of reserve is at commercial level,? he said.
