PHE begins drill steam test of KE29-1 well at WMO block

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore (PHE WMO), which operates the West Madura Offshore block in East Java, began drill steam test at the KE29-1 well on Tuesday as the company intensifies efforts to increase production from the block.

?Today we?ll start the test for the KE29-1 well within the WMO block. Hopefully, it will be successful,? said Tenny Wibowo, President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, the parent of PHE WMO, to Petromindo.com Tuesday.

He did not provide further details, but early indication has shown hydrocarbon potential.

Production at the WMO block currently stands at around 17,000 barrels per day. Production is targeted to increase to 20,500 barrels per day by the end of this year. Production at the block suffered declining trend last year, but the company managed to start to reverse the trend in the latter part of the year.
