PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), said the drill stem tests (DST)-4 at the Badik-1 and Badik-2 wells in Nunukan block, East Kalimantan which were drilled last year showed oil and gas indications.

"The size of the reserve at the wells is being intensively evaluated to see whether it can be economically developed," PHE's Corporate Secretary Wahidin Nurluzia told Petromindo.com.

The company's Operation Director Eddy Purnomo confirmed the result of the DST-4 at the wells is under review prior to the submission of the Plan of Development (POD) proposal to upstream authority SKK Migas.

Meanwhile, Wahidin added that based on the modular formation dynamic testing (MDT) of the West Badik-1 well which was drilled on May 17, 2014 there are several reservoirs that contain gas and oil there. Now the firm is preparing to carry out DST at the well.

PHE is the operator of the Nunukan block after acquiring the 35 percent interest of US oil and gas firm Anadarko in February of 2013. Medco Energi owns 40 percent interest in the block, with the balance equally shared by Indian Firms Videocon Industries Limited and Bharat PetroResources Limited.
