PHE eyes Myanmar oil blocks

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, a subsidiary of Pertamina may take part in a tender to develop oil and gas fields in Myanmar as part of the company?s plan to expand into other countries in Asia, the company?s President Director Salis Aprilian said.
Salis said that the company plans to cooperate with Thai oil and gas company PTT Thailand to explore oil and gas in Myanmar.
?Yes, we are seeking the exploration opportunity in Myanmar. We may team up with PTT Thailand to carry out exploration activities in the country,? he added.
At least 15 oil and gas companies have submitted proposals to take part in the tender for the exploration and production of 10 oil and gas blocks in Myanmar.
Two of them are Indonesian companies, PT Istech Resourcces Asia and Smart, which will cooperate to explore oil in the EP5 block in Inbin-Tegyigon in Ayeyarwady area.
