PHE gets drilling permit from Riau?s regent

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) has finally received permit from Rokan Hulu regent in Riau province to drill an exploration well in Siak PSC in the regency after many months of waiting.

The exploration well called Kumis #2 is located in Kota Lama Kunto Darussalam, Rokan Hulu regency.

PHE Siak General Manager Nana Heriana said the firm applied for the permit in July 2015 and it was only awarded recently. As the permit has been granted, the firm now plans to start drilling the well in the second semester of this year.

SKK Migas?s Chief Representative for Northern Sumatra Hanif Rusdi said: ?The oil and gas industry needs support from the local government particularly in terms of licensing in order to execute programs in line with targets.?

Siak PSC was formerly operated by Chevron Pacific Indonesia but was transferred to Pertamina in 2014.
