PHE ONWJ, a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, (Persero) is in talks with two new gas buyers, namely PLTG Sunyaragi gas-fired power plant (owned by state-owned electricity firm PT PLN) and Mundu LPG plant (owned by gas distribution firm Pertagas, a Pertamina subsidiary) for the supply of gas from GG field in ONWJ block, offshore West Java.
The company's Relations and Communication Manager Donna Priyadi said on Wednesday PHE ONWJ currently has a contract to supply 20 mmscfd of gas from the GG field to the Balongan refinery.
"The production of GG field can reach 31 mmscfd of gas, so we can still sell its gas. We are currently still in the process of discussions with potential buyers including PLTG Sunyaragi and LPG Mundu LPG plant," said Donna, but did not say as to when the talks are expected to be concluded.
Gas production at the GG field has now reached 25 mmscfd of gas. "Gas production from GG field amounted to 25 mmscfd, and is delivered to the buyer, RU (Refinery Unit) VI Balongan, after having previously been processed at the OPF (Onshore Processing Facility) in Balongan. According to the gas contract, the actual volume is 20 mmscfd, but we are currently able to send 25 mmscfd because our wells are good and its gas can be absorbed by consumers," said West Operations Manager of PHE ONWJ, I Nyoman Hartanu, in Indramayu, West Java, Wednesday.
Hartanu added, the OPF Balongan has a capacity of 40 mmscfd.
