PHE Metan Tanjung II drilling one CBM well

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Metan Tanjung II, a CBM unit of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, started a core hole and exploratory drilling at TJ-2 CBM-004 coal bed methane (CBM) well in Tanjung II CBM block in Tabalong regency, East Kalimantan on Dec. 31, 2014.
Tonny S Priantono, General Manager of PHE Metan Tanjung II, said the drilling was carried out in a bid to develop alternative energy as well as meet commitment to the government.
The well is the fourth CBM well that has been drilled by PHE Metan Tanjung II, located in Taniran village, Benua Lima district, Barito Timur regency, Central Kalimantan.
The Tanjung II block covers a total area 1,092 sq km, PT PHE Metana Tanjung II PI 100% in the block
