Thursday, August 22 2013 - 10:59 AM WIB
The GG field is located 30 km off the northern coast of Cirebon.
?The scope of the project includes the development of the GGA offshore platform and one Onshore Processing Facility (OPF) in Balongan area. Both facilities are connected by a 35-km subsea pipeline,? the firm, which is the operator of ONWJ block, said in a statement.
It did not specify the name of the company that received the EPCI contract.
The GG field project includes the drilling of three wells, which combined will produce 33 mmscfd of gas. Based on the Plan of Development (PoD), a total of US$152 million will be invested for the drilling and the construction of gas transmission facilities.
After being processed at the Balongan OPF, the gas will be processed by Pertamina into LPG to meet the needs of the public and strategic industries around Indramayu regency in West Java, including the Balongan refinery, X-Ray platform owned by Pertamina EP (as fuel for oil lifting) and the regional government-owned companies (BUMD).
At present, ONWJ has three OPFs, which are respectively located in Muara Karang, Tanjung Priok (both in North Jakarta) and Cilamaya in West Java. The Balongan OPF will thus bring the number of OPF owned by ONWJ to four.
?We hope the development (project) will significantly contribute to the efforts of boosting the national oil and gas production. Aside from the Subsidence Remediation project at five Flow Stations which is now in progress, our efforts to boost oil and gas production are still focused on work safety and environment,? Jonly Sinulingga, Executive VP/GM of PHE ONWJ, said.
