Upstream company PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) expects its offshore North West Java (ONWJ) oil and gas block to resume normal oil production rate in the second week of this month when a turnaround program of production facilities have been entirely completed.

The company has conducted the turnaround program since August of this year, which has caused oil production losses of up to 10,000 bopd.

?Today, (production) has increased to 26,400 bopd. The turnaround program is (being) completed gradually. God Willing, it will be entirely completed in the second week of October so that production can return to normal rate of 33,000-35,000 bopd,? PHE President Director Gunung Sardjono told Petromindo.com on Tuesday, but did not provide further details.

The ONWJ block is one of the oldest offshore blocks in the country which started production in 1971. Nevertheless, the block is still able to provide significant production of 33,000 bpd of oil and 126.8 mmscfd of gas.
