PHE ONWJ closes two platforms temporarily

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), has to close temporarily two platforms, Echo and Zulu, in ONWJ Block due to the arrival of three Jack Up Rigs.

The platforms will have to stop production for some time until the rigs, which will be used for drilling, are placed into positions. ?After that, the platforms will resume normal operations,? PT Pertamina Hulu Energi?s Operation Director Edi Purnomo told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Friday.

"Yesterday, two Jack Up Rigs entered the platform Echo and one Jack Up Rig entered Zulu. Production from the two platforms dropped up to 3600 bopd. But now the rig preparation in platform Echo had been finalized. In Zulu it is still proceeding. But we hope it will be finalized in about a week. Currently, production drop has been cut from the initial 3600 bopd to around 1200 bopd,? he said.

Edi added that there was also a repair of compressor in platform Echo, and pigging work from MM platform to Central Plant. ?The three rigs are only moving rigs among the platforms. We?ve informed this to SKK Migas," he said.

According to him, next month (August) PHE ONWJ will conduct a lifting work of Platform Lima. "During the lifting, the platform will lose production at 27 mmscfd. It will start in the middle of August (2013) and will take for about two weeks to complete,? he said.
