At the end of last week, the company booked a new high of 46,200 barrels per day of oil production, the highest since it took over the block in 2009. Back in 2009 production stood at only 23,100 bpd.
The company, therefore, has so far increased production by 100 percent.
PT PHE ONWJ said in a statement Wednesday the success followed drilling of two development wells in Echo area, which gave an extra 4,000 bpd. The company has also optimized production activities in all fields so as to maintain base production.
?Production increase in ONWJ block is evident of PHE ONWJ?s capability in operating offshore block, which is risky and requires high technology. Through safe and reliable operation, PHE ONWJ manages to maintain the increasing trend of production that we started in 2009,? Executive VP/GM PHE ONWJ Jonly Sinulingga said.
Thanks to the production increase PHE ONWJ is optimistic it will meet its production target of 39,400 bpd set by the upstream oil and gas regulatory taskforce (SKK Migas) in its work plan and budget for 2014, after disruption due to bad weather early this year.
