The production increase was the result of its sustainable efforts and activities, including development of wells, improvement of production facilities and sub-sea pipes.
?We?ve managed to double production since Pertamina starting to operate the ONWJ Block after being taken over in 2009. Our program of maintaining this already old production facility has proceeded well. So, although we saw a slow progress early this year, but now we?ve returned to the level we?ve expected,? PHE ONWJ General Manager Jonly Sinulingga said.
PHE ONWJ also managed to find new reserve in the block after 13 years of absence in exploration. In 2011, PHE ONWJ was successful in exploring wells YY-4, and KKT 1. The test from three zones resulted in a total of 3740 bopd, and 22 mmscfd in YY-4 well, while in KKT-1 well was found 2100 bopd and 4 mmscfd from two reservoir zones.
From the target of five wells in 2012 - KLU 1, MRAX-1, ZTX-1, SP-1, EG-1 ? the KLU-1 well has encountered a gas reserve and condensate from four structures with a test result at 620 bopd, and 22 mmscfd of gas. Other well drillings will be conducted until the end of this year and early next year.
?This discovery is very encouraging considering that there has been no explorations during the last 13 years. The result is positive. We?ll continue the seismic and exploration to support production in ONWJ in the years to come,? he said, adding that for next year PHE ONWJ has also planned four exploration drillings, which are expected to further increase reserve.
PHE ONWJ has also safely and successfully completed a survey of 3D seismic at an area of 650 kilometers in the West transition zone.
The realized performance of PHE ONWJ was also the result of its strong commitment to address the problem of natural decline of production at 17 percent per year.
The composition of share ownership in ONWJ Block is Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ Ltd. (Operator) with 53,25 percent, EMP ONWJ Ltd. 36,7205 percent, Talisman Resources (N.W Java) Ltd. 5,0295 percent, and Risco Energy ONWJ BV at 5 percent.
