Upstream company PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Offshore North West Java (ONWJ), which operates the ONWJ block in West Java, plans to drill a new well next year and to carry out seismic activity in a bid to find new reserves and increase future production.

?Next year, there will be two exploration activities, seismic at the Cilamaya sea, and drilling of KKX oil well in the Kilo Karawang field,? GM of PHE ONWJ, Siswantoro M. Prasodjo told Petromindo.com on Thursday.

He said that the company has allocated a total of US$24.5 million expenditure for the two activities, of which around $20 million will be used to finance the drilling program.

PHE ONWJ, according to its 2017 work program and budget (or RKAP) is targeted to produce 33,000 bpd of oil and 120 mmscfd of gas. ?So far production is still in line with the RKAP. For 2018, the production target may probably be the same with 2017. But we?ll continue efforts to increase (production), one of which by carrying out exploration of new well,? he said.
