PHE ONWJ wins zero accident award

PT Pertamina Hulu Energy ONWJ, a subsidiary of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina, has won a zero accident award 2012 from the ministry of manpower and transmigration.

The company announced on Thursday that the 2012 award was presented by Manpower and Transmigration Minister H. Muhaimin Iskandar to PT PHE - represented by the Ministry's Marine, Logistic and Procurement Senior Manager Lies Widaningsih - in Jakarta on Thursday.

The award was given for its Marunda Shorebase, which has been operated for 1.7 million man hours of working without any accident since January 2009 until January 2011.

Based on the ministry's regulation PER-01/MEN/2007 on giving award of work safety and health (K3), the award is only given to companies, which manage to reach zero accidents of working for the period of 2009-2011.

The award given to PHE is the award given to big companies that have a minimum of 1.2 million man hours of working under the criteria of oil and gas sector, which is considered to have the highest risk of work accidents.
