PT. Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) is conducting comprehensive evaluation on recent discoveries at Ogan Komering block onshore South Sumatra, and said that delineation campaign will not be conducted until after the block?s contract extension is finalized.

President Director Gunung Sardjono told Petromindo.com that delineation is planned to determine the size of the discovery. ?However, as the block?s contract will expire next year, drilling campaign will be scheduled after new contract is finalized,? he said.

PHE and previous partner Repsol have completed drilling of Jantung Baru-1X and North Meraxa-1 in August and October 2016. Results from the two wells are still under evaluation, Repsol said recently.

Currently Ogan Komering block produces 3,000 boepd of oil and gas.

PHE currently holds 50% interest in the block with Singapore-based Jadestone Energy-which acquired 50% interest of the block in January 2017 from Repsol-holding the balance.

Ogan Komering is one of the eight blocks which will be fully handed over to Pertamina when the contracts expire in the next two years. Partners who wish to retain their interest in the block must negotiate on B-to-B basis with Pertamina.

PHE is an upstream arm of Pertamina.
