PHE plans drilling program in Abar, Anggursi blocks

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), an upstream subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, plans to carry out drilling programs in Abar and Anggursi blocks, offshore West Java, following completion of 2D seismic survey earlier this year.

Theodorus Duma, General Manager of Abar-Anggursi blocks, said on Monday that the company plans to drill a maiden exploration well, called Karunia-1, in Abar block at the end of this year or early next year. He said that the planned drilling forms part of the company?s three-year commitment to the government in the block.

He added that an exploration well will also be drilled in Anggursi block, but as interpretation of seismic data has yet to be completed, no name has been assigned to the well yet.
