PHE plans seismic survey at two blocks, drilling at another

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), an upstream subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, plans to carry out seismic survey at two blocks this year, and exploration drilling early next year at another block.

PHE President Director Gunung Sardjono told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the seismic survey will be carried out at Abar block, offshore West Java, operated by subsidiary PT PHE Abar in November, and at Anggursi block, offshore West Java, operated by subsidiary PT PHE Anggursi, in December of this year.

Meanwhile, drilling of an exploration well in Nunukan block, North Kalimantan, will be carried out in January of next year. Plan of development for the Nunukan block was approved in earlier this year, under which the block will produce 60,000 mmscfd and 1,800 bpd starting in 2019. The block is operated by PHE with a 66.67 percent interest. It partners with Indian firms Videocon Industries (20.83 percent) and Bharat Petro Resources Ltd. (12.50 percent).

?We continue to carry out our exploration commitments, and is currently preparing for seismic survey in Abar and Anggursi in November-December 2016. And later in January 2017, we will drill the Parang well at Nunukan block,? Gunung said.

He said that the company is currently in the process of seeking permits for the planned seismic surveys.

PHE Nunukan General Manager Alfian Husein said to Petromindo.com procurement process for the planned drilling of the Parang well has been accelerated. ?We?re in the process of getting offshore rig. It?s at the selection stage. We hope we could complete also the required permit from local administration,? he said.
